Shencare supports many other voluntary organisations within the South-West Birmingham area and plays an integral role within the local community.
Shencare’s commitment to community transport in Birmingham provides a lifeline for its users and without it some people would be unable to get out at all. We offer a personal and professional service where drivers get to know many passengers by their first names.
We provide this service with volunteers who themselves are benefiting from the skills they gain through working and training with us – a genuine ‘win, win’ situation.
It is our aim to deliver a service that meets the needs of all our users and make a difference to the local community.
It is an objective of Shencare’s Board of Trustees to proactively promote an initiative for an integrated accessible transport network in the area and to co-ordinate the response to requests for transport from users of the local Voluntary and Community Centres. We are keen to build relationships with other providers in order to deliver this initiative for joined up working.
